Names

Did not go to school today. Sitting infront of the computer and keep thinking and wondering. "Why should I be called Goldfish? Is this a nice name?"

Honestly, I do not like this name at first, especially when I am in primary. My friends keep laughing and making fun of my name. Once, I asked my mom, why you give me a name can be laughed by everyone? English name "Lareina", became "Ribena" and chinese name "君仪" became "金鱼" or "鲸鱼". Everytime when my friends call me, they will make fun of me "Ribena, I want some Ribena juice" "Ribena, I'm thirsty, give me some free Ribena" "Goldfish, why are you here? You should be in the water or sea." And when I need help, "Hey, faster go and help Goldfish, she can't breath and need water." I was really mad and very very angry. Even teachers also joining them and making me a clown. "我忍!!" I told myself. At last, the day came when everyone graduate and I am proud that I do not need to be with my "friends" anymore. I was transfered to SMK Bukit Mewah, in Rasah area. Most of them were situated in SMK Seri Ampangan and SMK Panchor.

And so, now I can hide my chinese name, which is the one that make me go nuts all the time. I introduce myself as "Lareina" in secondary. And to my surprise, the teachers and students here wasn't making fun of my name. Only a few(2 or 3) which is very very naughty will call me as "Ribena". So, even during chinese period which teacher always calls chinese names, also call me "Lareina". And yes, they did not make fun of my name, but they gave me many new names. "Lehreina" "Larina" "Lorina" "Dorina" "Larinia" "Lavina" "Leruna" And when time goes, they even call me as "Lori" "Gardenia" "Lazagna" "拉链拉". Ahhhhhhhhh........ Why can't this be stopped?!!

Things went on until this year, when I joined Facebook. In one of the application, which is called "Farm Town", I show myself as "Goldfish". That is after I went for my church's O.A. mission trip where my sis the ginseng, bANNAna, jacq the black charcoal and me the goldfish sang, play & laugh all the way to Kuala Pilah and all the way back too. All these names were created & given in the car. To make it a memorable event, I named myself as Goldfish in "Farm Town". Surprise is there was once someone praised my name, "Goldfish, your name is so nice & special" and I get job easily when I willing myself to help. Things goes on, I love this name bit by bit. And I got myself a blog which I don't know why I named myself Goldfish and imagine that I am living in a pond. Recently, my friends in class started to wonder what's my chinese name. This topic came suddenly when they realize that they don't know my chinese name after 2 years in the same class. They started to guess "张关仪" "张贯仪". Gosh.. they even changed my surname.

I have thought of this very long, wether to tell you all my chinese name. Recently, I watched a movie, this question that appear in the movie, I wanted to ask myself also. "If I were to die tomorrow, will I tell my friends my chinese name today?" My answer: My dear friends, I am here to tell you all, my chinese name is "郑君仪". So, please don't simply guess and make it like an alien's name. I was laughing when I saw y'all guess.

And to bANNAna that read this, please dun be angry for I called you bANNAna. I don't know why you don't like this name. It's a cute name ^.^
